by Ewan Easton, MBE.
It's been my pleasure over the years to work with many Brass Bands around
the country. Rarely do you meet a Band that reminds you what the true
essence of Banding is all about! This happened to me when I first met
the members of Kirkbymoorside Band.
During my visits to the Band I was struck by the commitment and thoughtful
actions of the leaders in this 'local' organisation, committed to learning,
to building and all driven by their passion to be the best they could
If Brass Bands were judged on their ability to make the highest quality
music, for their community, using musicians from their community, then
Kirkbymoorside Band would be one of the finest examples in the world.
I can only applaud them for their tireless focus and hard work, that
has brought them to this point and hope they pass on the baton to future
generations, so this outstanding ensemble carries on for many years
to come. Ewan.
