The
Trout Trio of Flutes was formed at the end of 1989, and first performed
as part of a large charity event to raise money for Malton Hospital. The
line-up consists of Gillian Guildford, a music and psychology graduate,
Hazel Dales, a bilingual parliamentary secretary, and Tracey Brown, civil
servant and music teacher, who replaced Cecilia Whitworth as the bass
flautist in 1990. Based in Malton, the Trio travels far and wide to give
concerts, and has been featured live on national I.T.V, several times
over the last few years, and Channel 3 North East, and has recorded for
international Cable T.V. In 2000 the Trouts were extencively featured
on BBC1 as part of the 'BBC music live project'. Radio-wise these flautists have presented their own live programme on Classic FM, as well as other varied appearances on the popular radio station, featured live with Mike Read on B.B.C. Radio 1, with Canon Roger Royle on B.B.C. Radio 2, and have played live also on B.B.C. Radio 4, as well as making countless contributions to local radio networks all over the U.K. They have starred with many famous names, including sharing the stage with The Beverley Sisters at The Empire Theatre in County Durham, and they have appeared in arts festivals and many concerts, throughout the country. Press reviews have included the following comments: "experts who make music fun", "gifted flautists" and "deliberately startling appearance and totally captivating presentation." Although classically trained, The Trout Trio will play any type of music from Bach to the Beatles and beyond. If you need to contact the Trout Trio of Flutes, please contact TRACEY BROWN.. |
